The game is more complex than ever on both ends of the floor

In terms of strategy and available information. The style of the game has changed, but there is still all those things you say are gone from the NBA. The amount of skill in the league right now is embarrassingly more than “back in the day”.

Also to address the “back in the day” argument, literally everything sports and culture overall things have changed since back in the day. You can like it or not, buts it’s not like the NBA is the only league that has changed. A lot of sports that we enjoy now are different from awhile ago.
