To be fair, CB had been over the top
With the commentary that Utah had never won the South.

It’s a big deal when you consider the injuries and how difficult Utah’s schedule was — WSU, UW, Oregon and Stanford. No Cal, no Oregon St.

Certainly not parade worthy...maybe not ring worthy, but flexing for winning the south and conveying facts like Utah sweeping all CA schools in both major sports is huge...is a huge requirement for recruiting. If Utah wants to gain any traction.

Utah doesn’t have anywhere near the appeal of the top P12 schools, so it has to market its gains.

To win the south and then come back the next year as the favorite again shows to recruits a competitive program on the rise.

KW is also trying to motivate players to take the next step.

While it may be cringy, it makes sense.
