Understand that I 100% agree the games are close. I remember sitting in RES during halftime last year thinking "this is the year", just staring at the scoreboard. I did a post on a Ute Facebook site and on this board about the fact that even though the games have been close, Utah has led in games prior to last year's game during 86% of the playclock since joining the PAC-12. Close? Yes, no doubt. Close enough to sway the tide one way or the other? Of course...
BUT... at what position group do you feel BYU is better than Utah? Where will we look back after the 2019 game and say "BYU outplayed Utah at this position". Is it the defensive line vs. Utah's offensive line? TEs vs Utah's linebackers? Is it simply that Wilson will play better and pick apart Utah's secondary?
'Cause I don't see it. Utah's offense is ridiculously stacked vs BYU. Huntley. Moss. TJ Green. 5 WRs deep. Maybe it's the O line. On the other side of the ball, Utah's DLine is always crazy good. You have Julian Blackmon, Jaylen Johnson, Javlin Guidry and company in the secondary. Maybe it is Wilson's ability to be smart and pick Utah apart? I don't know.
What say ye?
Maybe it's special teams. Utah doesn't have a kicker.
