The last time we came out of the gates at full-speed was 2015, vs. Michigan. (Whit has beat Saban and Harbaugh. Probably not a ton of coaches can say that. 😉) BUT Utah had the extra motivation of having been called "cupcakes" by Popular Mechanics.

In 2016, 2017, and 2018, Utah started out playing teams like Weber, SUU, and... Idaho State. (?) And played poorly.

As a Cougar, I look at that, the fact that BYU was up 20 with 17 minutes to play, and the fact that the game is at LES, and I think this could be the year.

As a Ute, I imagine that Whit will remind the team about being down 20- and how "embarrassing" that was- and the team being extra focused. Utah also wants to win the PAC this year- and they'll want to make a statement.

As a football fan, I think that the 100th Rivalry Game should be a very interesting game.

(I went to both schools. Utah for bachelor's degree. Grad school at BYU. I cheer for both teams, although I cheer for Utah when they play each other. But I also feel like BYU is due for a win.)
