Independence for now is financially sustainable but I don’t think it is..
...sustainable from a competitiveness standpoint. We are at the mercy of p5 conferences giving us special consideration in scheduling (p5 equivalent) their OOC games and we are at the mercy of ESPN giving us good exposure on their channels. So far that is working out adequately but aren’t we just robbing peter to pay Paul in a way? We get some decent exposure with a few big games early in the season but we lose a large number of home attendance due to lackluster opponents or the general feeling that after the first few losses the team has nothing to play for.
