You quit the boss, not the job. So true. I love my job, and am killing it, but feel the opposite because of my manager.
It's amazing how much your relationship with your manager can impact you at work. I have knocked it out of the park every month and am extremely productive (for 2 years now, and 3 years at the company), but in our bi-weekly one on one's, she comes across as upset and disappointed with some undertones of you better do better or else. It has started to cause me a lot of stress, to the point where when she scheduled our 1:1 for tomorrow, I got a lot of anxiety and thought, "Great, what negative things is she going to want to talk about?" even though I am doing very well with all my projects.

I LOVE my position and company, but am seriously considering leaving because of my manager. Her personality type is also the opposite of mine, which doesn't help. But I heard someone years ago say "you quit the boss, not the job," and I'm really beginning to discover how true that is.
