...you're trying to accomplish. What is the point of the discipline?
I've come to a point where I don't take away true natural consequences, but I don't create un-natural natural consequences either.
I've also come to the point that I've decided that the purpose of discipline (for me) is to change behavior. It isn't to punish. It isn't to give consequences. It is to teach and to change behavior. And if I've been successful at teaching and changing behavior, then I don't necessarily need to add on extra consequences. Mission accomplished.
That doesn't mean that some things aren't revisited from time to time. And some lessons take longer to learn. But I find myself much more at peace with my parenting and I find that I have a much better relationship with my kids.
