You're conflating issues and making this harder than you need to

The issue never was about "the army air force."
The discussion was specifically about 8th Air Force. The org that conducted the US bomber offensive against Germany. It was both smaller than the Marine Corps and sustained more deaths. I keep stating this, and you keep confusing yourself on the issue.
