competition at BYU Law School was fiercer than ever had ever seen in their law school days. I have a good friend who got her accounting degree at USC (not Ivy league, but pretty good) and then went to BYU for the MACC. She was blown away by how much smarter the BYU students were by comparison, and how much harder the experience was at BYU.
The question I have is whether BYU is sometimes too hard. If I had a son or daughter who wanted to be a doctor, I would steer them away from BYU. It's hard to get through Chem 105 and the other pre-med classes with a good GPA, even for the top students. The med schools do not generally recognize BYU as having Ivy prestige, or anything close to it.
