RE: I have nothing to add other than your family trips sound pretty awesome. I
Thanks. I read the book "4 Hour Work Week" back in around 2008 and it changed my thinking and our life. I started a business with one of the criteria being that it had to be something that allowed a reasonable possibility of working from other countries, and my wife studied the airline rewards/credit card game intensely. Its worked out pretty well and my wife and I have been able to go to 29 countries in the last 8-9 years without paying for flights (other than misc taxes) and our kids have been able to go on a lot of those.

Its not all play - I work a few hours most days while we're gone and have a great team at the office - but its been amazing for our family, and we've been able to learn to do it pretty affordably - airline miles, cooking a few meals each day at the rental home/apartment instead of eating out all time , getting affordable instead of luxury places through Airbnb or VRBO, etc. My wife loves photography so its her favorite thing in the world to explore other countries, and when home we don't splurge on toys like boats or RVs or an overly expensive home, or frankly even a lot on Christmas....

We're just wrapping up Portugal and Spain and its been amazing, definitely places we'll come back to.
