I have lived outside of Utah where LDS people are the minority and you are right. And when national Comedians come to SLC they crack a lot of LDS jokes. But this is kinda my point...this is not at all specific to Utah fans. It only seems that way because of the rivalry. If anyone other than a Utah QB had made that comment...it would get ZERO play here.

There are dumb people in all walks of life including Utah fans. It is only magnified more because of the rivalry...but in other major US cities, cities where LDS people are the minority, I have heard a lot of the same stuff. Haters will just always be haters and that’s just on them.

Jewish comedians, Catholic comedians are quick to make fun of themselves. I mean, granted, there is a ton of material there and they just own it.

And why I just don’t take the things said about Utah fans on CB seriously at all...

Is I work with too many awesome LDS/BYU fans in the medical profession, know too many BYU lawyers, and know great BYU judges who are fair, reasonable, and awesome people. Granted, lol like what you alluded to, what is said in private (and for that manner maybe these same people are on CB) might be a whole different manner. But I could care less about that because the real life interactions are so much more important.
