"Utah has been trying to catch-up to BYU since BYU got a National Championship

back in '84. This year looks to be the Utes best chance to get into the play-offs. With such a weak conference schedule they really only have to get past BYU and Washington to have a shot at getting that fourth spot. Of course, they have only beat Washington once since 1931, so even that will be an up hill battle."
