"This is Utah's ninth year in the Pac-12, which makes this one of those rare rivalries where one team is in a Power 5 conference, and the other is not. And yet- with one exception- BYU has managed to be competitive in every single game. In fact- last year, after Utah had won the Southern division- they found themselves down 3 scores, late in the 3rd quarter- to their archrivals.

There are a lot of football fans in this state, and a lot of fans of this rivalry throughout the country who look at this BYU program- with a quality brand of football, with it's rich and storied history, and multiple NFL stars, including Steve Young, Jim McMahon, Heisman winner Ty Detmer, with a national championship trophy, and 65,000 seat stadium named after one of the greatest coaches in college football history... and these people wonder- WHY is BYU not also in a Power-5 conference?

Surely, they deserve it. And they would be an asset to any one of them."
