You are taking this way too seriously.

This is simply CB fodder. Of course this guy isn't going to do anything unprofessional. And saying something negative about either team really would be completely stupid. But wouldn't it be great if he threw in some kind of clandestine nod to cougarboard or said something funny that only cougarboarders would get? (Like complimenting KWhitts pants.)
