CBs don't all have to be lightning fast. What's the point of being fast if
you're always having to use it to recover because you got whooped. That's how Michael Davis spent his first year. Chris Wilcox too. Later they learned how to be corners. And BTW, there's two guys right there with elite speed. Tre Greene was another. Guys with plenty good good speed include Dayan, Rob Daniel, Mandell, Udo, etc. Dayan might be running high 4.4's. Ellison is a really fast guy as well.

You have some misconceptions about corners. Nobody is saying we're going to be LSU all of the sudden and be CBU. You also have some misconceptions about the level of talent or speed BYU can get.

The media and some others are trying to get fans in a frenzy about worrying about corner... Yet even with the loss, BYU still looks deeper than they've maybe ever been.

Wilcox, who everyone is fussing about, is a guy who nobody wanted on the field as a freshman. One year later he improved a lot, and then as a junior he's all of the sudden looked at as irreplaceable. That kind of development is happening elsewhere. Mandell is WAY further ahead than Wilcox was at this time. Herron is further ahead as well. Shoot, Udo could prove to be futher ahead.

I don't know why you're making such a big deal about pure speed and nothing else. What Gallow lacks in elite speed, he makes up for in skill and physicality. Physicality is part of something that lost Mike Davis his spot as a senior. Mike Davis. One of the fastest guys we've ever had. So who is emphasizing pure speed now?
