That’s false. Huskies are responsible for more bites per dog breed. Plus
“Pit bull” actually is NOT one breed...it’s a type. Most people use pit bull when they mean any dog that “looks like a pit” when they can be an American bulldog mix, boxer mix, even lab mixed with some other short nosed dog could be thought to be a “pit bull”. There’s a chart out there that has a bunch of pit type dogs that tried to get people to guess which is actually a pit bull. Even I as a dog professional can’t pick out some of the actual pits from the pit mixes or mixed breeds without pit in it.

The only kind of dangerous pit bull is the kind that HUMANS ruined by bad breeding (you can pass on aggressive tendencies when you breed aggressive dogs to aggressive dogs and I’m not talking breed specific here-ANY breed can be bred to be aggressive even a golden retriever) by mistreatment, or bad training, or not neutering. In fact most bad bites by dogs seem to be by unfixed males. You cant just blame by breed if dogs are going to be aggressive-you have to judge by situation and past of the individual dog.

Best friends is an actual rescue/shelter that works with many pits and mixes. They would have accurate facts because they’d need to not be adopting out vicious dogs. Many different organizations have the exact same facts with no affiliation to each other.

Everyone here just thinks I’m a “pit lover” and am just protecting the breed/breed type because I love it. But I don’t really like “bully breeds” all that much. Too hyper and not all that cute. I wouldn’t ever own one and that’s nothing to do with thinking they’re bad. Just a dog professional that’s pretty well versed in dog behavior and breed characteristics. That knows that any breed can and will bite.
