questionable to begin with, but they allowed both teams to completely line up and even snap the ball before blowing it dead and telling them they were giving USC back their timeout. The only thing I can figure is the USC coaches were arguing and jawing with the refs and the refs didn't finally give in until both teams has already lined up, but who knows.
