Utah team, I'd be floored if they were left out of a NY6 bowl. Conference affiliation does nothing for these bowls, unless you belong to a P5 conference.

I know it isn't football, but when I think about conferences, it is just like Gonzaga basketball. They aren't put as a 1-3 seed because they belong to the WCC; they get that seed because they are really really really good, and play really good OoC games each year, and win them. The conference they are in doesn't bolster them really that much. The fact that they win the WCC conference championship doesn't boost them up the rankings either.
