A whole generation is being devastated?
I have 2 teen girls and 1 pre-teen. Both my teens have phones and all their friends do. I'm not privy to their friends private lives, but I see very little devastation. All these girls are smart, outgoing, doing well in school and nice kids. I dreaded having 3 teen girls in the house and all the drama that comes with it. I'm continually amazed at the kindness, compassion and goodness I see from different groups of girls.
That just sounds like the scare tactic of one generation to another.
