anecdotes are of course not research evidence. Here's the research evidence.
That is very good news that your daughters are doing well. That is unfortunately not the case for the majority of this generation.

One Third of teens suffer from anxiety, becoming "more crippling each year'. The number rises to 62% in college students. The rates are double what they were 25 years ago. Suicide rate for teen girls is highest in 40 years and doubled since 2007. https://www.ajc.com/news/health-med-fit-science/why-more-teens-are-suffering-from-severe-anxiety-than-ever-before-and-how-parents-can-help/cFlF86X6Qvn9IHqBX75jzK/

Research shows mental health disorders in youth have doubled in the last decade. This article also discusses the connection with social media accelerating these mental health crises. https://health.usnews.com/wellness/for-parents/articles/2019-04-22/teen-depression-is-on-the-rise

Research study here, surveying 500K kids, found that use of social media increased likelihood of mental illness and suicide. https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/2167702617723376

This is a good summary in layman's terms of the reasons why it affects teens: https://www.bphope.com/kids-children-teens/teens-negative-effects-social-media/

So in summary, with mental illness skyrocketing and doubling for teenagers and persuasive evidence linking it partially to social media and smartphone use, then yes it's fair to say it is devastating the current generation.
