The new narrative I see on Twitter: The church is the reason BYU is losing
Not the coaches. Brady Poppinga in particular is saying that if Kalani could focus 100% on football instead of dealing with all the church politics and stuff, BYU would be much better.
This is so freakin ridiculous. The church isn’t causing BYU to lose to teams like UMass, Toledo, and South Florida. The coaches are to blame. The church isn’t preventing simple adjustments during the game. The coaches are. The church isn’t calling ridiculous plays on 3rd and short. The coaches are. While I agree that the church has created a lower ceiling for BYU, it has not contributed to the floor that Kalani’s team keeps hitting.

If BYU was 4-2 as it should be, this conversation wouldn't be happening now. It is clearly coaching.
