Moving back to the MW won’t help at all. If we did that we’d realize how far
ahead Boise is compared to us, that would only grow just like how it did with Utah and TCU. Boise fans should be all for this. BYU fans not so much.
If Boise was able to switch places with BYU and had the support needed to do so, they’d do it in a heartbeat. More revenue with a bigger stage and greater chance to make an impact on a national level is what they want. They have the team, coaching, and full backing of the university to do so, but they’re stuck with the have nots. Just like every other non P5 team. Just win with the schedules BYU has and independence is much much greater than any G5 conference.
If the MW still had Utah and TCU I’d be all for joining that league. Times have changed. P5 ain’t happening for us anytime soon. Currently independence is our only option. That being said if we hold out until the next likely landscape shakeup in 2023-2024 I’d be down with the creation of a new conference along with the leftovers from the Big12/Boise/AAC.
