Disagree about Grimes calling a great game. Two plays come to mind:

Third and five. Four down territory. You’ve got two plays to get five yards. Don’t ever run a jet sweep- starting the play five yards behind the LOS running horizontally. Especially when they have been good at getting penetration. You line up, knowing you have two plays to get four yards and you run it up the gut - fall forward for 2-3 and immediately do it again before the defense gets to reset. You call both plays on third down. Instead, you lose 3/4 yards and now have one chance to get 8.

On the final play- really? That was it? That was like a post up pass in basketball to a 5’10 guy. Terrible. I’d rather see a fade to bushman.

There were a few other head scratchers. But those two really were egregious.

I think you’re right about the effort. It wasn’t there on some of the plays, especially the defense. They were sleep walking at times.
