It’s smart for a lot of guys to be a bigger fish in the pond
A guy like Warner can get a lot of experience as a underclassmen and that will set him up to be really good as a JR and SR. Takitaki got a lot of playing time early just because he was a great athlete. Then it all came together as a SR. The key is to find the right pond, not too big or too small
