perception of how sports and CFB in particular work. They love to see a small state like Utah get any national attention. When it happens, they jump on board. But do they know that at least half of Utah's schedule is against teams with better recruits, more natural talent and more financial resources?
You can't expect to beat better programs constantly week in and week out. Especially when you're going on the road 5-6 times a year. It's just not possible. There's a reason why so few mid-tier / lower-tier P5 teams ever make the elite bowls.
It's not like the MW, where Utah/BYU had more money, talent and better coaches than 90% of their schedule outside each other.
