Resources aren't why we struggle against G5 teams.
And since this is strictly hypothetical, I would think that BYU would be able to carve out some exception to the money they get from ESPN if they were to join a G5 conference. Maybe BYU doesn't get the full 100% of what they do from ESPN now, but they could structure something where we get the majority of it and then share some with whatever team we play each week that is also aired on ESPN.
They could spin the potentially spin the publicity aspect to argue to keep some of the ESPN money.
