We found doing pull ups is kind of like running.
Do a few sets most days and you build endurance for it. The body learns how to do a lot of them without having to get huge. For the guys I used to do it with, the bicep curl strength didn’t noticeable change when we went from 10 to 20, or in another guy’s case 40. I’m sure the lats and a lot of the supporting muscles get a lot stronger though.
