BYU has 2 wins over ranked teams this year. What does that really mean?

It means you got a bunch of opportunities. Go look at the G5s overall record in BCS/NY6 bowl games. The elite teams in a given year can more than hold their own. And they are just as deserving as any other conference champion. If you are going to simply award bids to the best 8 teams, then that's a different standard. But if you are giving out automatic bids via conference championships, then the G5s should get one too.
