but I am basing it on things I was personally told by the Hawaii football coaches last November when we were there for my sons official recruiting visit. I also saw the same claim in the Hawaii media. I think it is more of an unofficial agreement with ESPN who owns the bowl game that if Hawaii is bowl eligible they will find another bowl for the AAC team and Hawaii can play in the Hawaii Bowl. There has been enough "unofficial" verification of it that I think it is very likely including the Hawaii coaches telling the team, my son is on the team, that they would be playing in that bowl game if they get 7 eligible.
