I think with the recruiting ramifications, it makes the most sense to extend him for a couple of years. In a pinch, if they decide to let him go they can do that. But I don't think a lame duck coach helps the cause. Unless you think giving Kalani a week to week contract keeps him motivated, which in turn keeps the players motivated. Then I suppose I could be talked into that - as long as it works.
