But 31-24 was too close, as Liberty still had a real opportunity to tie the game in the final minutes. BYU needed to score once more or prevent one fewer score before the 4th quarter - to be up by two scores going into the 4th quarter and keep that lead - to put the Liberty performance in the acceptable category. 

I'll take the 7-point win, though. Much better than a loss.
