The 2 of them have faced similar competition. Utah is the outlier, they are
better than any defense Romney has faced. The others aren't that different. Zach faced #24 USC and #22 Washington, Romney faced #14 BSU, BSU is the only one of those still ranked (and holds opposing QBs to a lower PER than USC does, BSU ranked 43rd, USC ranked 71st on this). They both faced decent teams in Tennessee and USU and had "cupcake" teams in Toledo and Liberty. I think it's funny that many are trying to downplay the level of competition Romney has faced when prior to BSU and USU most of us were considering them elite teams and were thinking we'd lose to both.
