I hate that late losses mean more than early ones. You want it so Oregon can lose to Auburn or Utah can lose to USC early and then beat a bunch of .500 teams and be in the conversation for the playoffs but a loss by LSU or Ohio State tonight to great teams would take them out of the playoffs? Clearly they are 2 of the best teams in the country and when they lose shouldn't matter. Teams in the playoffs have at most 2 losses and usually just 1 so losses do not really indicate any kind of trend.
