10 interceptions came in the 3 losses, 5 of which were post heisman
He also threw 5 ints in a 45-10 win over USU, and other multi-interception games in blowout wins.
The interceptions just weren't as devastating back then. They almost all came on downfield throws where his arm strength was suspect. Were basically punts.
Nowadays, teams take very limited shots downfield with lots of bubble screens and short throws. INTs are more devastating in those situations.
