experience. I'm not going to provide numbers for someone too lazy to look, but this staff has quite a bit of experience.
And like I said, market value and actual worth. That is earned. It's not just some precursor on paper. Steward is definitely worth more than he's getting paid.
I hope you will one day realize that there are qualities that these professionals are paid to look for when they hire, and there are things that won't show up on a piece of paper, and things earned well after they've been hired. Kind of common in any business, ya know? Total years of experience gets ignored quite often across all industries. It does not determine worth.
And look around at other programs. They do it too. Programs lower than BYU do it because they have to. They have to rely on a good eye for talent when they can't always get a 15 year vet with tons of proof. It's the same way they recruit. And schools with money do it too.
Look at what Utah is forking over for their coaches, and look at their experience. It's actually a more sad-looking staff on paper for P5 football.
But please don't be lazy. Did it happen in the past? Sure did and it was sad. But you can't say that now. AJ Steward had more years of experience coming into BYU than the previous THREE RB coaches combined.
BYU isn't providing resources for coaches or support staff and there's no opinion about it. They're barely competing with average G5 schools in some areas.
