You're comparing BYU to the two best teams in the country. Why? BYU can't compete with them right now so the program is dead and G5 is the only option?

Most of the P5 schools are no closer. BYU is very comparable to the middle P5 schools. There's no reason to think that with so many ditching cable there won't be future realignments from which BYU could benefit.

In the meantime BYU is down. In this past down year they still managed to beat schools like USC and Tenn. Are they destined for G5 too? I believe the program has more in common with P5 schools (average, not the top) than G5 and there's no way I would support BYU if they threw in the towel and dropped to G5.
