IIRC, Matheney also hit Cheesman in the nose several times once the mask was removed. Not with his fist, but with fingers extended.

There was no reason for this. Cheesman was having a great game and Matheney was obviously frustrated. Cheesman did look spooky wearing the mask to protect his nose. Maybe that's what set off Matheney, but it was totally uncalled for.

Buster Matheney passed away many years ago. He was shot and killed in Los Angeles. He was in the wrong that day at the Marriott, but may he rest in peace.
