BYU was not good that year.
Somehow the team played really well that day and came very close to beating a much better Ute team. I thought Jay Cheesman was BYU's best player in those 77 days.
These were the years when football began to take over basketball as the #1 popular sport at BYU IMO. There was a bit of a basketball lull when Cosic left. Both sports were stellar in most of the 80's.
