These are private schools without state support. Do donors cover the losses?
I do agree that football is necessary to pay all the bills. You have a valid point on that.
I wonder how little BYU could sink into FB and still generate sufficient revenue. I mean, we are paying some of our FB coaches decent amounts of money for a 7-6 record. We still seem to be able to schedule games that will pay out decently well. ESPN still is paying us, despite the presently mediocre product.
