Miles from Moab in Grand, Carbon or emery county. This makes it illegal for someone to completely avoid town and take a trip to one of the most desolate places on earth. The swell, little Grand Canyon, even snowmobiling somewhere and setting up a tent would be illegal under this order (like skyline trail on the border of Emery County In the manti la sal. It is ridiculous.

I am not advocating or urging people to go TO MOAB and inundate the town and patron the restaurants and markets. I am talking about camping/backpacking/hiking in the outdoors. Socially distant. As socially distant as one could possibly be in the US of A.

I understand your sisters plea, but she has a bubble view that Moab is where everyone goes. And she should, it gets so busy for a small town. And it is the gateway to Arches, a popular land small/crowded NP. But thousands of people go to Indian creek, canyon lands, needles, robbers roost (there are hundreds of remote locations) etc without ever stopping in Moab.

Keep your restrictions to town and don’t extend them to the wilderness. And don’t threaten 6 months in jail for doing so.
