After reading nonstop about this virus and viruses in general for 2 weeks,
and watching Pandemic on Netflix (so, I'm essentially a PhD Virologist at this point, TIC), I think 40-80% of us are going to get the virus. There is no stopping it now. Cat is out of the bag. Most of us will have little to no symptoms. ~10% will need hospitalization. Assuming the hospital can give you all the beneficial treatment that they could under normal circumstances, the death rate will be around 1%. If the hospitals are overwhelmed and you can't get the treatment you need, then death rate will be somewhere between 1% and 6%. The key is to catch it while the hospital can help you.

I have a family member who is a respiratory therapist at a hospital in Utah that has been designated as a COVID19 "hub," meaning if your insurance is provided by a certain insurer in Utah and you get the virus, you will be instructed to go to her hospital. She is already on the front lines wearing those space suits intubating critically ill COVID19 patients. I can tell you that her hospital is already close to the breaking point in terms of having enough capacity to get you all the treatment you need. Of course, when that hospital is at capacity, they will likely start sending people to other hospitals, but my point is that you probably are not going to want to be needing hospitalization in 1-3 weeks from now. Hopefully this social distancing works and we never reach the tipping point like NYC, Italy, etc.
