The only density that matters is the Wasatch Front.

What does it matter if there's 50,000 square miles of sagebrush out there? The density of the towns and cities is what matters, and more specifically, how much close contact people have with others. For example, if churches had not been closed, I'd have said that Utah has more contact with large groups of people than average.
