If so, because the US is more like a continent than a country. Sweden has 10 M
people; it’s about the size of Michigan. A more appropriate comparison for the United States would be Europe, if we’re talking about homogeneity.

And even so, the US has a much smaller % of foreign-born residents than Sweden, at around 13%, compared with their 20%. I say this recognizing that there are of course lots of other things that make a place heterogeneous.
