Texas - hot, humid, avg tax burden due to sky high prop taxes,
nearly all the land is privately owned, thus very few state and national parks. Little national beauty. Beaches...you can see the oil platforms from the beach. Usually good job market.
Washington - nice, but drizzly. Good job market.
California - awesome, but expensive and wacky leaders. My choice if I can afford it.
Idaho - nice, but too expensive relative to what jobs pay.
Colorado - nice, but felt more midwestern than I was expecting.
Arizona - awesome, but unliveable for three months of the year.
