Am I a grouch for being annoyed w/people commemorating those who didn't die in
War, on Memorial day?

I dont do Facebook- but my wife just showed me a couple posts from friends today commemorating their loved ones who had passed on with some hashtag variant of #Memorialday, but who did not die in or because of war, much less served in the military.

I might be a bad person, but that feels like it cheapens this holiday. Im not saying that it's not important to cherish our loved ones who passed away. I'm just saying that today is for the one's who gave their lives for our country. I hope we all get to spend some time today reading/watching some of their stories or reflecting on their sacrifices.

Feel free to flame away, and God bless America 🇺🇸.
