have to travel to see the places where their loved ones are buried and can't do it on any normal weekend. Many families gather on this holiday to visit graves together because it's much more convenient to meet. You can celebrate the lives of non-military family members without cheapening the veterans. They didn't defend this country just for themselves, and I would wager that many of them would be just fine with us remembering others.
