Background: I grew up in Idaho in a rural area, financially comfortable family, we had horses, boat, 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, season passes at the ski area, did a lot of hunting in multiple states, etc. Frankly I had probably the most amazing childhood possible with a great family, tons of hobbies and toys, a work hard, play hard type mentality. I'm 45 now and live in AZ and am just........bored. 3 kids, none are into sports, none into hunting or fishing. We travel a fair amount, are scuba certified so we've been able to dive the Great Barrier reef, ski in Europe, visit lots of different places, fish Alaska numerous times, etc, we really do have a good life but I'm just so bored. My wife loves to hike (rim to rim in the Grand Canyon in a day type stuff) and physically I can do it and its, mmmm, ok, and golf is ok to me but I dont love it enough to care about doing it one way or another.
Do you have a hobby that gets you juiced, that you're regularly planning for or dreaming about? Or do I just accept that this is middle age and be glad that I can physically do these things, accept that the thought that excitement is gone and just be content with mere enjoyment?
I dont want to come across as a whiner, I've got a great life, blessed......but just wondering if others have hobbies that still juice them, and if so, what?
