If your ducts run in the attic, just have another duct run to the garage. It wil
not be on the thermostat side, so it will just get cool air as the house is cooled. Not as efficient, but very common down there. I don't recall what the fire code is for garages there. In some places there has to be a fire wall in the entire attice over the garage. If that is the case then a mini split would be your option. However, we had a large warehouse in Tucson and kept 2 large swamp coolers made for indoor usage and they would drop the temp down into the 80s
