Went to Crater Lake in the winter. Saw nothing but falling snow and fog. Never saw the lake.

Do the Jr Ranger program at each, cool unique souvenir and learn a ton.

It's not a national park, but you need to do the Sawtooth Nat'l Forest. Rent a cabin or camp at Redfish Lake. Do a float
