Yellowstone is tops for many good reasons. But I had some great hikes in
Redwood. We just did the main hikes shown on the map and we hiked sometimes for over an hour without seeing anyone. Not often you get that kind of solitude in our busy national parks.

It's not a national park, but you need to do the Sawtooth Nat'l Forest. Rent a cabin or camp at Redfish Lake. Do a float
